A Chippenham company has been chosen to launch the campaign celebrating the UK’s five million small businesses.
One hundred businesses – the SmallBiz100 – were picked to promote the fifth annual Small Business Saturday, which takes place on Saturday, December 2.
One business a day will be featured in the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday.
And first off the blocks, on August 25, was lead generation consultancy Purpol Marketing, who were featured across Small Business Saturday’s social media platforms.
Purpol Marketing MD Denise O’Leary said: “Small Business Saturday is a great way for us small businesses to showcase the wonderful work all small businesses and entrepreneurs do. This is a chance for our vision and skills to be recognised.
“At Purpol, we strongly believe working together in partnership with other small businesses gives greater strength to a business through shared resource of knowledge, greater reach and brand awareness.”
Michelle Ovens, director of Small Business Saturday, said: “The campaign has really captured the hearts of communities and it gains in traction year on year.
“This is not just because it’s a nice message, but because everyone gains from it: small businesses are getting new customers and revenues, customers are meeting new businesses that offer great service, great value and are run by local people who know your name when you walk through the door.
“It is not altruism – communities and the economy benefit when small businesses are better supported.”
