The team were highly commended in the Rising Star of the Year category at the annual UK Employee Ownership Awards, held on Monday, November 27 at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Birmingham and hosted by BBC news presenter Martine Croxall.

Judges impressed with the year on year growth the business has seen and its continued investment in the facilities at the centre.

This award completes a trio of awards for the Homebuilding Centre Limited with the young business also winning Wiltshire Small Business of the Year at the Wiltshire Business Awards and Build It Magazines ‘Outstanding Contribution to Self-Build’ in 2017.

“This award goes to show that the model of employee-ownership, with all our team having a genuine stake in the business, makes all the difference," said NSBRC managing director, Harvey Fremlin.

"We have been celebrating the NSBRC’s tenth anniversary year in 2017 and to end the year with three special awards is beyond our hopes for the business.

"It’s been a fantastic year all round really, the NSBRC’s busiest since 2008. We all love what we do here, and I believe the team’s passion and dedication to providing a wonderful experience for all our visitors shines through.”

The National Self Build and Renovation Centre is unique as the UK’s only permanent self build visitor centre.

The NSBRC has invested significantly in its conference and meeting spaces and is set to launch a brand new meeting space in 2018.
