Rob Law appeared on Dragon's Den in 2006, seeking £100,000 for a ten percent share of Trunki, the ride-on suitcase for tots. But when, in a memorable scene, Theo Paphitis pulled the handle of one of Rob's colourful cases and it broke off, the budding entrepreneur left empty-handed and red-faced.

Undeterred, Rob went on to sell more than 3.5 million ride-on suitcases, and Trunki boasts a turnover of £7 million per year.

A little luckier in the Dragon's Den was Jordan Daykin who, in 2014 at the age of 18, became both the youngest and the most successful contestant in the show's history when he persuaded Deborah Meaden to invest £80,000 for a 25 percent share of his firm GripIt Fixings.

A serial entrepreneur with a proven track record of identifying business opportunities and capitalising on them since the age of 12, Jordan runs a £20m business that exports to over 34 countries worldwide from its Melksham base.
