Swindon firm redheadPR has been appointed as PR firm for Redhead Day UK, a national celebration of all things ginger.
Redhead Day UK is an all-day event for redheads and their appreciators to celebrate red hair with photography, art, music, talks, stalls, merchandise and activities.
But there's a serious message too – red heads are more susceptible to sunburn, and this year's event will raise funds for the British Skin Foundation’s skin cancer fund.
The event will be held at Cecil Sharp House in London on Saturday, May 19 – the same day that royal ginger Prince Harry ties the knot with Meghan Markle.
Hundreds of people are expected to attend the event, which will commence at 12 noon with coverage of the Royal Wedding on a giant screen.
Caroline England will then get the party started with her track 'Ginger', before Carrot Top Comedy Hour is hosted by Diane Spencer with award-winning comedy from Alasdair Beckett-King, Cally Beaton and Elf Lyons.
The day will then get scientific with a talk on ginger DNA from geneticist Adam Rutherford. Evening entertainment comes from drag act Gingzilla, and a caricature and watercolour portrait area for families to remember their time at the event by.
Sara Tye, founder and managing director of redheadPR, said: "It is great to support such a fantastic event, I've been an avid follower of Redhead Day UK over the past few years and it is just amazing to be involved. We look forward to making our contribution to the fantastic cause that is the British Skin Foundation."
