Melksham is getting its first Turkish barber shop, with the arrival of Aziz Barbershops at 53 High Street.
The letting was negotiated by commercial estate agent Kavanaghs, which was able to agree terms with the new occupier while the outgoing tenant was still serving notice, meaning no loss of rental income for the owner of the building.
Commercial property manager Stephen Brickell said: “53 High Street is a valued part of our management portfolio and is a prominently situated lock up shop with first floor ancillary space.
"We are delighted to have agreed a long term letting of the asking rent and without there being a void period are particularly pleased to have ensured continuity of income for our client – a good example of property management in action."
Famous for their hot towels and cut-throat razors, as well as nose and ear hair treatment, Turkish barbershops are growing in popularity with male customers seeking more masculine grooming than that offered by traditional hairdressers.
