Majestic setting for Inspire’s strategic partners’ lunch

Longleat have partnered with Inspire since its inception 25 years ago.

The event was opened with a welcome from Viscount Weymouth who reminded guests of the need for constant innovation if a business is to continue to thrive. 

He talked about the theme of innovation running through Longleat, from the first stately home to open to the public right through to the opening of its new Koala Creek this spring.

The strategic partners heard a presentation from Inspire’s CEO Rob Perks on the Inspire Elite scale up support programme and how it supports leaders of growing businesses throughout their lifecycle.

This was followed by a presentation from Josh Robson, Head of External Affairs at the ScaleUp Institute on the scale up landscape in the UK.

They were then treated to lunch at Lord Bath’s private banqueting suite to round off the afternoon.

“It was great to see so many of our strategic partners and this was a great way to say thank you to them for their support which makes the Elite programme possible,” said Rob.

“Longleat is our longest standing partner and have been hugely supportive to us right from the very beginning in 1994. It’s a privilege to hold this event here every year and our special thanks go to the family for their continued support.”

Inspire have been endorsed as Scaleup Ambassadors for Swindon and Wilshire by the ScaleUp Institute for the second year running thanks to the help they provide businesses to manage and sustain rapid growth.

They have also recently been selected by the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership to pilot a scale up programme across Somerset and Devon.

Rob said: “We work closely with the ScaleUp Institute and listen to the findings from their research.

“Scale ups want a dedicated relationship manager to direct them to the most appropriate support to meet their needs and help them take advantage of opportunities that exist.

“This is what we provide and if we don’t know the answer then our strategic partners can provide additional expertise in specialist areas.

“Leaders in rapidly scaling companies need to learn to cope quickly with changing demands and may need help navigating those choppy waters.”

Josh Robson commented: “Inspire play a vital role in helping businesses get to grips with the scale up challenges and establish essential local connections with those who know what it’s like to grow a business.

“The two of the main barriers scale ups have identified are access to talent and access to market. It is great to see that Inspire have a strong network in place to help provide relevant support.”
