More than twenty local business owners will gather in Swindon next month to network, learn how to 'future proof' their business and raise money for a great charity at the same time.
Since launching the PPS Business Lunch Club two years ago local accountant Sally Holland of PPS Chartered Accountants has seen the event grow and grow.
"We've been based in Swindon for over 27 years and wanted to give something back", explains Sally. “We give local businesses the opportunity to meet each other, to learn information which can be vital to their business and we give one local business the opportunity to present to the other attendees.”
The event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Swindon on Wednesday, June 19 from noon until 2pm. Attendance costs £15.
"We originally planned this as an event for local businesses", explains Sally, "but it's grown beyond that now and we have businesses from all over Wiltshire attending, and even some booked in from neighbouring counties. We're thrilled because it gives our clients and contacts a real opportunity to build their business, right on their doorstep.”
There is also a fun raffle at the event, supported by PPS and other businesses and this month the Alzheimers Society Swindon has been chosen as the guest charity. Over £2,000 has already been raised for local charities and a representative from the Alzheimers Society will be there to receive the funds raised.
The guest speaker in June is Gordon Mitchell, managing director at Asset Guardian Co Ltd. Gordon will explain why it is vital that business owners write their Will(s) and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Gordon commented "I'm delighted to have this opportunity. What we do is vital to any business, but so many business owners don't think about protecting themselves until it's too late. I hope that some of the attendees will see how we can help ensure their business survives, even if the worse happens".
