Town centre worker discount card launched in Chippenham

on .

People who work in Chippenham town centre can get discounts from their favourite shops and food outlets with the launch of the Worker Discount Card.

The card was launched by Chippenham Business Improvement District this week, and is available to everyone who works within the Chippenham BID area.

Chippenham BID Manager, Kathryn Crosweller said, “A thriving town centre is often supported by local workers who can pop out during lunch or on their way to and from work to do some shopping, helping to support other town centre businesses.

"For example, Chippenham has a high number of office staff, and we hope that giving them an incentive to shop in the town centre will see footfall increase for other town centre businesses.”

Discounts vary in nature and amount. Visitors to Boswells in Emery Gate Shopping Centre can get 10 percent off their takeaway order, while estate agents Atwell Martin are offering reduced fees and financial advice to town centre workers and Dental Health for Life are offering a free oral consultation.

A list of participating businesses who are offering discounts and incentives can be found at www.chippenhamconnected.com from the end of June.
