Newly-qualified solicitor Benitia Knowles-Wright has joined the family team at Wiltshire law firm Goughs.

Benitia joined Goughs in September 2015 as a trainee solicitor and has recently qualified into the family department having worked in the team – one of the largest in Wiltshire, comprising of 10 solicitors – since January 2017.

Throughout her training with the firm, Benitia has gained experience in all aspects of family and matrimonial matters including divorce, separation, cases involving children and financial settlements.

Prior to joining Goughs, Benitia studied law at the University of Exeter and went on to study the legal practice course at the University of Law in Bristol where she obtained a Masters of Law.

“Growing up in Wiltshire, I’ve always known about Goughs and have felt really lucky to become part of the firm over the past couple of years,” said Benitia.

“I’ve always been interested in family law because I like working with people.  I know that, the majority of the time, people come to see a family solicitor at a difficult stage in their life and my aim is to make that daunting experience easier with a clear and supportive approach.”

Benitia is based in the firm’s Chippenham office working alongside Thomas Boyce, a partner at Goughs, who joined the firm in 2015 from leading national firm Burges Salmon.

Matthew Drew, head of the family department, said: “We are delighted to have Bea as a permanent member of the family team and a real asset to our busy Chippenham office.

"She is already building a great reputation with clients with her friendliness and enthusiasm for family law.”
