The appointment of Richard Day as practice manager and Verity Ferris as trainee paraplanner brings the staff tally at Hartham Park, Corsham-based firm to eight.

Richard, who began his career in marketing before moving into senior management roles in organisations with household names including RAC and National Trust, brings a wealth of business experience to the team.

Graduating with a degree in law, Verity brings strong customer relations skills to the organisation and is studying for her diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

Bourlet Consulting was formed in 2004 by managing director Roger Bourlet to provide independent financial advice based on a an academically proven approach to the vagaries of the financial markets.

The firm operates throughout the South West and M4 corridor and concentrates its services to three specialist areas of financial advice with Roger’s specialism lying in providing advice to business owners looking at succession planning or possible exit plans.

Chartered financial planner, Ian Farrer provides financial advice to families and those who have, through their lifetime, generated meaningful assets that they want to enjoy in retirement or pass on; while director Robert Johnson works with the legal and accountancy professions to help to discharge their responsibilities to clients looking for the best outcomes for those who are often vulnerable and need expert financial help.

"Verity will further strengthen our existing paraplanning team, who assist with the preparation of the necessary financial research and help to ensure that we offer suitable and appropriate advice, while Richard’s operational and commercial skills will help us to structure the growth that the business is experiencing," said Robert.

"Both appointments come at a crucial time for the us as we have seen the business grow organically over the last few years to the point that we needed to add a strong framework to the organisation to give us the capacity to help all of those who look to us for financial advice."
