Restaurant to take prime position in Swindon shopping street

A new restaurant is to open in one of Swindon’s main shopping streets, in a deal brokered by commercial property agent Kilpatrick & Co.

Galaxy Café will be opening on the ground floor of 21/22 Regent Street – premises previously occupied by Outfit Outlet and Town Mobile – following a refit. The upper floor is being converted into two flats.

The asking rent was £40,000 p.a.

The two-storey building of 3,190 sq ft occupies a prominent position in the pedestrianised Regent Street, opposite Sports Direct, Specsavers, and Pep & Co.

Andrew Kilpatrick of Kilpatrick & Co said: “We had agreed terms for this deal prior to Covid and we have had many ups and downs along the way before completing the deal.

“We are pleased to have been involved with bringing further new life to Regent Street, particularly as earlier, we sold 19E and 20 Regent Street, the two next door properties.

“The property owner, Fairfax Securities said: “It was a long haul but we got there in the end, mainly thanks to Andrew’s tenacity, which was greatly appreciated.”

Kilpatrick & Co only have one further property left in Regent Street, 59B Regent Street, which is currently under offer.
