Malmesbury’s Town Team has launched its new brand onto the world stage, in a bid to attract more visitors locally, regionally, and from across the globe.
The Discover Malmesbury website, logo, and town guide were launched on Friday before retailers, business owners and residents.
The mobile-friendly website – at www.discovermalmesbury.life – showcases the best of the market town – from its historic roots as Britain’s oldest borough, to innovations like skateboarding in the Abbey and the inventions at the headquarters of Dyson.
Malmesbury Town Team chairman Gordon MacPherson said: “Malmesbury is an exceptional and fascinating town loved by residents and visitors alike, and a missing link in the promotion of the town was an engaging brand and website.
“We are delighted with the results and have also embarked on a marketing plan in conjunction with Visit Wiltshire and exploring other ongoing marketing opportunities.”
He said visitors to the site were coming from all over the globe: “It’s about talking to people all over the world, not just locally.”
The project involved a partnership of Malmesbury Town Team, Malmesbury Town Council, and Malmesbury-based marketing and design agency, The Front Room. Website photography was provided by Rob Peel, a regular contributor of acclaimed Malmesbury views to national newspaper front pages.
