Safety footwear manufacturer V12 have joined Boeing and the Royal Air Force in backing a campaign to encourage more women into engineering.
International Women In Engineering Day, which will be held next Tuesday (June 23) celebrates women engineers, as well as inspiring young women to enter the sector.
A host of events – now moved to the online arena because of lockdown – are being held on or around the day.
Chippenham-based V12 are renowned for their efforts in designing and creating women’s fitted PPE – a need and challenge many women in the industry come up against.
"It is really important to keep raising the profile of women in engineering and INWED are fantastic at providing the opportunity for individuals to promote their abilities and achievements," said V12 co-founder Ben Turner.
"At V12 we encourage, promote and educate not only our customers but the wider community on the importance of correctly fitted PPE for women, in a hope that one day it is the norm and is easily accessible."
