Restauranteur Rick Stein has said his restaurant in Marlborough will not reopen after lockdown.
In a statement, the family-owned business said: "We are very sad to announce that our restaurants in Marlborough and Porthleven will not be reopening.
"We would like to thank all our customers who have supported us there over the years.
"We hope you will find your way to our other restaurants where perhaps we can share fond memories of nights overlooking the romantic harbour at Porthleven or the classic perfection of the High Street in Marlborough."
The TV chef opened his 100-seat Marlborough restaurant in October 2016 to great fanfare, after an eight-month renovation of the 18th Century Lloran House – formerly home to women’s fashion retailer Wardrobe.
The restaurant employed around 40 people, all of whom have been handed redundancy notices.
In February – just a month before lockdown – the Rick Stein Group was named one of the UK’s Best Companies to Work For in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies awards.
