A Wiltshire company that supplies tech solutions to festivals and events across the UK and Europe has been acquired by an Australian counterpart.

Royal Wootton Bassett-based Etherlive has been taken over by Melbourne-based PMY Group, which is continuing to expand into Europe following its acquisition of Swansea-based C3i Group in December.

For over 13 years, Etherlive has implemented networked solutions at large outdoor events and festivals, helping organisers to connect via radio, monitoring crowds with CCTV, and helping attendees to keep in touch and stallholders to take mobile payments via wi-fi.

Etherlive has worked with high-profile events such as British Summer Time, Royal Parks, Battersea Evolution and national events such as D-Day, Royal Horticultural Society and London Marathon.

The team were also involved in the general election televised debates and the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics.

The company will continue to support such events and clients under the PMY Group banner as their independent technology services partner, operating under the leadership of Etherlive's managing director Chris Green and sales and marketing director Tom McInerney, who will both join the PMY executive team.

“Etherlive is an innovator in the event technology services industry and both PMY and Etherlive have a shared mission to become global leaders in this space,” said Chris.

“We are excited to join forces with PMY in a move that will enhance our offerings, technical expertise and bring global best practice to support the re-launch of events in a safe and controlled environment,” Tom added.
