Two companies involved in supplying products to combat the Covid-19 pandemic have moved into new premises at Corsham’s Leafield Industrial Estate.

Medical Wire and Equipment Company and Glentham Life Sciences have both taken 20,000 sq ft units, in deals facilitated by HPH Commercial Property.

Medical Wire and Equipment Company – which has taken a new lease – are involved in the production of swabs for Covid-19 testing kits and Glentham Life Sciences – which acquired the freehold of their unit – are a global supplier of high-quality chemicals and materials for research and testing.

Lindsay Holdoway, managing director of HPH Commercial Property, said he was encouraged to see continued strength in the north Wiltshire industrial market as the country’s economy starts to feel the full effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Both Medical Wire and Equipment Co Company and Glentham Life Sciences are successful, well-established businesses in their own right and it is encouraging to see them both taking positive steps in order to expand their capabilities and offering further employment," he said.

Chippenham MP Michelle Donelan said: “This is excellent news for the local community at a time when future employment is a big concern to many.

"It is a testament to all those working in these businesses that they have adapted and innovated in order to not only survive the coronavirus, but to continue growing and expanding employment opportunities for local people.

"I want to thank all those who made this expansion possible and will be on hand to support all businesses who need my help.”
