An industrial estate in Chippenham has changed hands for nearly £20 million. Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust has acquired Langley Park for £19.25 million.
The industrial park is close to Chippenham’s railway station and four miles south of junction 17 of the M4 motorway.
The largest tenant is the global headquarters of Siemens Mobility Limited, which is concerned with railway control systems and the electrification of the rail network. It employs 800 people at the site, which it has occupied for 85 years.
Other tenants include a UK subsidiary of Littlefuse Inc, a global manufacturer of power systems for the transport industry, Schneider Electric Limited, and NHS Property Services Limited.
The 28-acre site park comprises approximately 400,000 sq ft of warehouse and ancillary office accommodation. The rent from its five tenants generates £1.68 million annually.
