A farm shop with a difference will be opening in Marlborough High Street in July, in a deal brokered by commercial property agent Kilpatrick & Co.
Not only will Eversfield Organic offer organic meat, fish and fruit and vegetables, but its new home at 109 and 109A High Street – formerly two retail units occupied by Edinburgh Woollen Mill and Accessorize / Monsoon – will have a café and wine and cocktail bar, which will be open into the evening.
Eversfield Organic started in 2002 with a veg box delivery scheme around their farm on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.
In 2019 the family-run firm opened its first organic food shop at Tavistock in Devon. A second opened in Totnes last year. And the business runs a meat counter at Selfridges Foodhall in London.
The shops offer an ethical butchery with Aberdeen Angus beef from Eversfield's farm, a fresh fishmonger, organic deli counter, fresh wild sustainable fish counter and fridges full of organic cheese and dairy.
The farm's market garden provides organic fruit and veg, while the wine cave will be stocked with organic wine and sparkling wine, spirits, beers, and ciders.
The café will serve hot drinks during the day and wine and cocktails during the evening, with tapas-style organic cured meats from the farm.
The business has won a string of awards from the likes of the Soil Association, the Great Taste Awards, and Taste of The West.
Eversfield Organic's position at the entrance to Hughenden Yard will complement existing retailers Packaging Not Included and Eliane restaurant/café, already well known for healthy food offerings. Andrew Kilpatrick of Kilpatrick & Co said: “This exciting new independent retailer is just what high streets like Marlborough need just now.
